Recently, CNNC announced that the steel containment top head of Hainan multi-purpose modular small reactor technology demonstration project "Linglong No.1" was successfully hoisted in place, marking the capping of the key structure of the world's first modular small demonstration reactor under construction and entering the peak period of internal installation.

This hoisting completed the last step of forming an integral steel containment, and provided a more complete and reliable protection barrier for the reactor core module, reactor internals, pressurizer and other important equipment that had been introduced in advance.
The "linglong-1" reactor building consists of three parts: internal structure, steel containment and outer concrete shielding shell. The steel containment is composed of bottom head, lower cylinder, upper cylinder and top head from bottom to top. Its shape is like a vertical capsule containing the internal structure of the reactor building, just like the "golden bell cover" to ensure the safety of "Linglong heart", It plays a key role in ensuring the integrity and sealing of the reactor building.

Linglong-1 is the world's first land-based commercial modular small reactor. It is a multi-functional modular small pressurized water reactor type independently developed by China National Nuclear Industry Corporation with independent intellectual property rights. The new generation of active anti-collision system for tower crane equipment area adopts the latest millimeter wave radar sensor design.
