During the 12th Five Year Plan period, China has delivered 22 semi submersible platforms and 46 jack up platforms. In 2014 and 2015, China received new orders for offshore engineering equipment, ranking first in the world for two consecutive years, accounting for about 35% of the world market share. At the same time, China has made breakthroughs in the development of dynamic positioning system, deep-sea anchoring system and other equipment. "To develop the marine economy, equipment must go first." The next five to ten years will be a critical period for the development of China's marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry and marine economy.

At the forum, the Ministry of industry and information technology and the State Oceanic Administration signed the strategic cooperation agreement on promoting marine economic development between the Ministry of industry and information technology and the State Oceanic Administration. In the future, the two sides will work together to improve the quality and level of China's supply of ships and marine engineering equipment, and strive to cultivate new economic growth points.
